the EOSstack10 Experiment (& how to start your own EOS index portfolio)

Month 1 Results: 33%

As some of you know, my buddy Travis Morehead & I started a company a year ago helping people setup and re-balance top 10 based portfolios with the major crypto currencies based on some simple math I tested out that beat the market by a very healthy margin in 2017. You can learn more about that @ Haystack10.com

For giggles i decided to start tracking a little portfolio based on the same principles but using ONLY EOS ecosystem assets. Its a brand new space and its crazy volatile so instead of re-balancing every 90 days, im re-balancing ever 30 days.

In the first 30 days my portfolio went up 33%. This SHOULD NOT be taken as trading or financial advice. This is just what Im doing.

Ill be holding and re-balancing this EOSstack10 portfolio monthly until @ least then end of 2021.

I started with 100$. It was @ 133$ this morning. FUN!

Below is all the steps and websites i used to buy crypto, turn it into EOS, and setup the EOS wallets that let me build and hold this portfolio. Feel free to ask whatever questions you have in the comments.

GET LASTPASS!! Make sure to save all your passwords and private keys. If you lose your passwords or private keys I CANT HELP YOU. (you can use it as a phone app AND a chrome extension, i get tons of value from both)

- Use Coinbase.com to buy Ethereum with a credit card (it transfers much quicker than bitcoin on most days), you can use a connected bank account for larger orders but they hold it for a week.

- Setup a binance.com account

- In your binance account under deposits select ethereum and copy the ETH receive address

- send your ethereum from your coinbase account to your binance account. Coinbase will ask for the ETH receive address, TRIPLE CHECK IT!

- Find the ETH/BTC trading pair and sell your ETH for BTC (market sell order makes it easy)

- Find the EOS/BTC pair and trade all your btc for eos.

Create an EOS account. It costs around 6$ right now, this will set your account up with its first bits of RAM, CPU and NET (EOS is basically a giant computer, it costs a tiny bit each transaction, thats where your 6$ goes)

https://eos-account-creator.com/

- chose a 12 character long account name. 1–9 a-z (no 0s zeros)

- there will be a link to create a key pair. “Simplest Java generator”

- COPY THE KEYS INTO A SECURE NOTE IN YOUR LASTPASS. SAVE IT. I would add your 12 character name in there too just to be safe.

- go back to the EOS account creator and paste the PUBLIC KEY into both the OWNER and the ACTIVE public key spaces.

- then it should ask you to add a card and pay, Boom! you have an EOS account

[You can do this with just your phone but if you want to use a computer get SCATTER Use this link as there have been reports of copy cat links.

https://get-scatter.com/

When it asks, import a private key with txt. Copy the EOS private key (it starts w “5”) from the secure note in your LastPass. Now whenever you hit an EOS enabled website you will be able to login and access/use your EOS account via the scatter app. ]

Download the EOSLYNX wallet for your phone.

It should be avail for android and IOS in the app store.

During setup this will ask for your EOS Private Key as well. Paste it in.

OK! Now you can send your EOS from your Binance.com account to your EOS wallet.

In Binance head to WITHDRAWALS, pick EOS, and put your 12 digit EOS account name in where it asks. TRIPLE CHECK IT. Click the little box that says NO MEMO.

Send it. Binance will likely ask you to setup 2FA (the simplest would be to use SMS, but if you plan on using Binance more I would setup Google Athenticator), and will also send you an email to confirm that you are withdrawing.

In a few minutes you should be able to see your EOS in your wallet!

Now to setup your portfolio.

You can use NEWDEX (its a decentralized exchange, very cool)

On your computer go to Newdex.io, it will ask you to login, make sure Scatter is open on your computer and it will pop up to confirm the login.

On your phones EOSLYNX wallet hit Explore on the bottom and scroll sideways until you find NEWDEX.

Create Your Top 10 Portfolio, your EOSstack10.

As an example, lets say you have 20 EOS to create your portfolio with.

Using market orders inside newdex, buy 2 EOS (10% of the total) each worth of the top 9 assets, listed below.

In newdex when you select “marert orders” it shifts the ammt to EOS instead of the token you’re buying.

Important note, check the colored logo of the asset you’re buying in newdex against the logos below. Some have more than one with the same listing name. I think PLO and ONE were the two that i had to double check.

Of course the 10th is EOS itself.

Now… i would save some and also add KARMA, VOID and BOID personally, all of which have good staking rewards, specially VOID. These arent part of my experiment tho. I just like them.

I’m going to re-balance every 30 days. That will mean having equal ammts of the new top 10 in the eos market (They will be listed here https://www.cypherblock.io/eosmarketcap).

And im going to do this and report every 30 days until @ least the last quarter 2021.

PS. if you want to add some MOM token with a 10x reward email me at mothereos1@gmail.com, to learn more about the new project head to mothereos.com or check out my little medium article about it HERE.
